Heriberto Armenteros

Native of Pinar del Rio, Cuba; Heriberto Armenteros started fencing in 1978 when he was only 11 years old. By 1985, Armenteros became the National Champion of Cuba. In 1989, he became the coach of promising fencers such as Anabel Lastre who earned 1st place in the Sabre Junior World Cup at La Habana, Cuba in 2001, and Daylon Gilberto Diaz Acosta who took 3rd place at the Sabre Junior World Cup at la Habana, Cuba in 2001, 2nd place in Central American Games at Colombia in 2006, 3rd place at Pan American Championships at Venezuela in 2006, and 2nd place in the American Zone Olympic Qualifier at Queretaro, Mexico in 2008.

In 2009, Armenteros was requested to become an international coach in Monterrey, Mexico. This allowed him to become the Mexico’s National Sabre Coach during the 2012-2013 season, placing Javier Hernandez in number one of the cadet ranking. During the 2014-2015 season, he coached at Puebla Fencing Center placing several fencers in top eight of at the 2015 Mexican National Championship at Guanajuato, Mex. Armenteros is currently a sabre coach in San Antonio Phoenix Fencers’ Club.

Rosa Zerón
Started fencing in 1977 in Mexico and was coached by Professor Zetina in Humboldt High School. Rosa’s passion for the sport was transmitted to her father, who went to get certified as a coach in Europe. By 1982 she was being coached by her father and trained with her four siblings. Rosa was in the Mexican National Team, and was National Champion in foil and epee, until she decided to focus in epee. Such decision allowed her to earn diverse top 32 spots internationally; such as World Cups, and North American Cups. In 1981, she competed at the University Games in Rumania with only 17 years old. In 1990 she was finalist in a world cup B, in 1993, she was finalist in Montreal and in  Panamerican Championship in Guadaloupe Island,  became a Central American Games Champion in Ponce, Puerto Rico in 1993.
In 1998, Rosa decided to become an assistant coach at Club de Esgrima which is her family’s club, to share her passion for Fencing. In 2014, she decided to open Puebla Fencing Center becoming the Head Coach. Rosa has 44 years of experience in epee and foil to San Antonio Phoenix Fencers’ Club, now she got her Certification as Epee Prevot by USFCA.
In addition to her fencing experience, Rosa is a M.D. in Radiology graduated from Universidad Popular del Estado de Puebla

    Me llamo Hector Mellen. Yo soy un estudiante de UTSA y estoy practicando el deporte de esgrima por la primera vez.

    1) Desafortunadamente, los instructores de alla me dijeron que el equipaje que ellos tenian era muy chiquito. Tengo 5 piez y diez pulgadas en statura, peso 240 libras, el tipo de pantalones que yo tengo son 38 pulgadas, mi pecho se mide 48 pulgadas, y mi barriga se mide 44 pulgadas.

    Ustedes venden equipaje del tamano mio?

    2) Tambien quiero saber si puedo practicar con ustedes durante el verano? Ustedes clase de adultos o gente que son mi tamano para practicar?

    Estos son las dos pregunatas que yo tengo.
